Tony Yates Caring for Kids Foundation
 
  • Initiated by Tony Yates, University of Cincinnati basket ball player on the back to back NCAA championship teams and later coach of the Bearcats and Cincinnati PGA Golf professional.
  • Uses golf as the focal point to teach children discipline, growth self esteem and success
  • Over 200 area youth participate in the program, which includes participation, transportation, meals, events such the Tiger Woods Foundation Clinic and the Chris Collinsworth Celebrity Golf Classic Youth Clinic.
  • Incorporated as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.
  • A host of community and PGA volunteers, including ministers who provide close support and mentoring to the participants.
  • Success stories have included young people earning athletic scholarships and enable them to earn a college education.
  • Other charitable activities of the Foundation include the distribution of food baskets at Thanksgiving and gifts at Christmas to children and families in need.
  • Special events built around career exposure and scholarship funding.

 
 
Emanuel Community Center
 
 
  • Founded in the 1870's to serve the needs of German immigrants. It has served the Over-The-Rhine Community for 130 years.
  • The Emanuel Child Development Center offers services including the oldest continuous operating child Day program in the State of Ohio.
  • The Center's Homework Club, sports teams, and scouting activities provide young people in our community with constructive, purposeful alternatives to the streets.

  • The Golden Rovers program is a Senior Citizen outreach from Emanuel Center that includes computer instruction, social activities, and participation in cultural events.
  • Emanuel is now experiencing a complete renovation of its facility which is on the registry of Nationally historical Buildings.
  • The Renovation includes installing a new computer center, updating all the classrooms, overhauling the gym, and creating a safe, secured playground space for the outdoor activities.
