Creating Inspiration and building Self-Esteem through the Game of Golf and Life Skills Education.

On the Course and Off the Course

The Foundation's primary activity is its junior Golf Academy, which provides hands-on instruction by PGA professionals and community volunteers. While the golf instruction provides important lessons about patience, discipline and perseverance, the Academy also provides off-the-course opportunities with field trips and activities designed to further inspire and motivate. One of the principle components is classroom time focused on life skills education.

Golf Skills and Life Skills

The Academy begins the first Saturday in May and runs through the last Thursday in July, featuring hands-on golf instruction from PGA professionals assisted by more than 50 community volunteers. The Foundation also strives to provide each participant with shirts, hats, clubs and a bag. In that last two years, more than 250 sets of golf clubs and bags were given to students. The "Golf Buddy" mentor program introduces each student to an adult golfer who assists with instruction. More importantly, our Golf Buddies also form a lasting relationship with the student, providing help and counsel off the course, too. Several local high school golf programs have provided male and female golf mentors.
